Fred Kinsley has been designing and making jewellery since the early 1970’s.  He started as an apprentice in his hometown of London, Ontario, before moving to Toronto in his early twenties. In Toronto he worked for several of the large jewellery production houses in the early ‘80s where he honed his skills.  Over time Fred developed interest in handmade jewellery in his home studio, and as his skills expanded he began to create his own unique pieces. He had his design work in various stores and galleries in the Toronto area.

Finally, in the mid 90’s Fred set up his studio in Aldershot area of Burlington, where he continues to work today. Fred has worked in a variety of jobs in the jewellery field.  This has taught him a wide range of skills, from designing, setting, soldering delicate work, or any other number of metalworking techniques he uses to create his designs.  Still his favourite projects are to make handmade jewellery.  These qualities are reflected in many of his unique pieces.
